There are many treatments that are called "lasers" but there are only a few that really are. The CO2 laser is the gold standard among them. It is considered the most effective weapon for combating wrinkles, brown spots, scars, and many other skin imperfections.

 

This is one of the most successful techniques for treating every type of wrinkle! Especially those in hard to get areas. It can reduce the furrows of deep wrinkles and eliminate the shallower ones. The laser induces a process that stimulates the production of collagen. Treatments are designed to tighten and lift the facial structure. After treatment, skin becomes more elastic and smoother, without alterations to your natural facial expression. Once complete the results continue to improve for up to 3 months.

 

First, the skin is assessed, and decisions made on how to best address each area. A plan is created, and the laser programed to the precise parameters needed to achieve the desired results. The appointment for treatment generally takes about 90 minutes. Only 20 minutes of the time is used for treatment. The remainder is for preparation of the skin and cool down afterward.

The time for healing can vary from 4 -6 days. It is perfectly okay to resume regular activities the next day. However, the area treated can be tender and require TLC. The post procedure area needs to be protected from the elements during initial healing.  The feeling can be compared to the feeling of a sunburn although in this case the skin is healthier. Since the treatment will be visibly noticeable for a few days, you may want to allow time off from an active schedule.  That really is a personal choice.


Many clients like to plan on having a laser treatment once a year to maintain and improve without the use of injections. Your doctor can discuss the options and provide a clear picture of what can be expected from the treatment.
